Thea Feels No Threat From Elvi
posted (February 24, 2025)
On Friday, ousted PUP Corozal Bay rep Elvi Vega started a political rumble when she announced quite suddenly that she would be running as an independent - to challenge the candidate who had beat her in a convention, Thea Garcia Ramirez.

There are varied opinions on Vega's last minute decision to run, but for Garcia and her group, she says that she does not see it as a threat to her candidacy.

"It does not affect me any at all, none at all."

"But she has contested against you before. Do you think that she did not receive a clear cut message when you ran against her that the people don't want her?"

Thea Garcia Ramirez, PUP Standard Bearer, Corozal Bay
"Like I said we have been in a convention, I think I won convincingly in that convention I don't think that it was by a small margin, I think the margin was big enough to be clear and we are going here and we are going to do it all over again."

Jo-
"And in terms of the opposition, Ms Thea you still don't know who exactly you are running against?"

Thea Garcia Ramirez, PUP Standard Bearer, Corozal Bay "Well as far as this morning at about 9 there had been no registered candidate as yet or nobody that was inclined to go for the red party and I say that loosely because I don't know what's going on."
