And while Panton is content with the color configuration, the UDP faces a much larger problem - and it's what happened on nomination day - where, for the first time in its history, the party failed to field candidates in four constituencies, namely Fort George, Pickstock, Dangriga and Toledo East.
And those are Shyne Barrow Standard Bearers that Panton;s faction recognized as legitimate and did not seek to contest.
Panton expressed her deep disappointment for the voters in those constituencies - especially Fort George and Pickstock who are now left without the ability to choose their representative.
Tracy Panton, UDP Albert Standard Bearer
"I am certainly very disappointed that the voters in this country do not get to choose who they want their representative to be, which is fundamental in our democratic process. I have no idea why those candidates made a determination at the 11th hour not to be nominated. They certainly did not discuss it with me and I certainly would have never encouraged that if for some reason they felt they could no longer serve as standard bearers of the United Democratic Party, they needed to make that determination a long time ago and allow the party to find appropriate candidates. Our faction, the faction that I lead has been very respectful of the constitutional process of the United democratic party that was used to appoint those candidates to be our standard bearers. Mr Samuels, Mr Hewlett and Mr Denniss Tillett all went through that process and so we were not going to foist unconstitutionally and illegitimately any candidates in constituencies where there were bonafide standard bearers. You know I listened to the former party leader yesterday about trying to assert responsibility for the behaviour of colleagues on me. It's a failure In his leadership. Those representatives served and supported his leadership and he should be tasked to take on that responsibility. You are going to tell me that you are so out of touch with your candidates that you were not aware that they were so unhappy that they were going to take such action on nomination day? Something is wrong with that."
