Michelle Trapp Zuniga, a member of the Justice for Humans Project has written a letter to the chairman of the EBC, which was also sent to the AG's office, on behalf of registered voters current imprisoned. The letter said that all registered voters on remand as well as those serving a sentence not exceeding 12 months should be allowed to vote in the March 12th elections. The project has been attempting to contact the necessary authorities since July 2024 but their letter went unanswered. Zuniga noted that the provision for these prisoners fall under section 5 of the ROPA, and that they should be given the opportunity to exercise their rights.
