And while police investigations are underway, one of our colleagues spoke to the sister in law of the deceased. She says that the family was aware of the physical violence between Wendy and her partner, but never thought that it would escalate to the point of him killing her.
Voice of: Susy Mendez, Sister of Deceased
"The day that we found out that she was there, when they found her my spouse was laying down already as usual, we got up early that morning and we received a call from my mother in law she came and knocked on the door and she says that a person came and told her that my sister in law was found abandoned in an area and was unresponsive. So I got up and I told my mother in law to send my brother in law, Wendys older brother to go and see what happened to see if it's true and if it's true to come and tell her little brother and he will take the vehicle and go and see her. And so he went her brother went to see her, and then came back quickly and told my husband that yes he went and yes it's true that his little sister was dumped on a land that no one lived, there was no house there only trees and plants there and she is there and she is unresponsive. And she has wounds and her face is swollen. Then I told my mother in law to quickly go and see her and so my husband went with the vehicle and arrived to where she was and my husband says when they got there they noticed she was completely unresponsive but she seemed as if she was breathing, she was still alive but barely."
"We were unsure of what exactly happened because she wasn't able to tell us because she could no longer speak because she entered into a coma. But when she woke up she could only see us with one eye and stayed looking at us almost as if she wanted to say something but she couldn't, she could no longer speak, she could only make little to no movements with her feet, but she could not move almost none at all."
"We know that someone had seen them but no one wants to speak because they are afraid of getting into problems. But the way I see it is if somebody says something now it would help us a lot especially my mother in law. It would give her peace in her heart that she needs right now because she wants to know what happened, and what did this man do to her daughter. She had seen her with him, and this man is very violent from the time he would come here and Me as a sister in law. I saw that at times he would want to beat her in front of the family but he never tried it because he knew her brothers would react."
We'll let you know if and when police catch the suspect.
