City Saw Two Fires On Sunday

Two fires only hours apart happened in the city on Sunday. The first fire occurred just after midday on Fairweather street where the owner of the home was fortunate enough to salvage most of her house, while the second fire that occurred on Ebony Street consumed a structure and all its contents. Station Officer Gladstone Bucknor says his team responded swiftly to both.

"The first fire occurred in the morning on Fairweather street as you jump the bridge on the right hand side. Its a 2 storey wooden structure on one room in that area, 16x10 got slightly damaged not completely damaged and it all occurred due to the young lady birthday Ms Smith Birthday and she was having her birthday cake and the fan accidentally knock down the cake with the candle on top so."

"Not severe damage it wasn't severe damage, minor damage, minor."

"Well seeing that it was right across the bridge they responded very quickly, bare in mind its a wooden structure, 2 storey and only one just a portion of the room got damaged downstairs that's really quick enough. It could have gotten far worse than what it had been."

"We have also another house fire on Ebony Street which a cement Bungalow structure that actually got completely destroyed all the contents inside and as far as the investigation reveals is that we understand that the person who owns it Ms Humes the deceased, and I think her daughter lives in the house now."

"The time of the fire for ebony street was at after 12 Sunday afternoon, and the one on Fairweather Street is after 9, 9:43, 9:48 in the morning, Sunday morning."
