Middleton was accused of raping a 13 year old girl in Hattieviille in September 2020. The child alleged that Middleton had called her to his room and asked her to stay and when she told him "no", he physically restrained her and forced himself onto her.

Justice Nigel Pilgrim found the complainant to be an honest, credible witness and rejected the testimony of Middleton who claimed that the complaint's claims are false and she is conspiring with a woman he had an affair with because he broke up with her.

Middleton was represented in court by attorney Ian Gray and the crown was represented by Deputy DPP Shieniza Smith.
