Last week Commissioner of Police Chester Williams told us that he would be in the CEO's Chair at the Ministry of Constitution and Religious Affairs, Indigenous Affairs and Transportation effective today.
Well, that timeline has been pushed back. That was news to the Cabinet Secretary who heads the CEO Caucus. He returned from leave today and told us that Williams was supposed to report to his ministry today.
He later informed us that Williams is "in between the two places" and is "doing a transition". Leslie says that Williams will report to his office on Tuesday afternoon to give him an update. Lates information is that Williams will report to his CEO post tomorrow morning. Deputy Compol Rosado is expected to start taking up duties later this week.
Reports tell us that there will be a change of command ceremony at the end of the month - andRosado will officially assume full command at this time.
LOO Cautions ComPol On Cyber Crime Charges
But as we told you last week - before he left, Compol Williams brought criminal charges against Constable Mark Flowers for cyber bullying. On Saturday Leader of the opposition, Tracy Panton said he took it little too far:
Reporter "In relation to the application of the cyber crime lab by the commissioner who brought it against a police officer, who will likely, if he is convicted, end up losing his job over this."
Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition "Jules, be careful. You better be careful, Jules. You see what the man is prepared to do to his own. What is he going to be prepared to do to you? You know, I think the commissioner should please leave gracefully and magnanimously and get on to his next assignment."
