And, finally, Budna spoke about his medical condition. As you have heard, he currently has the flu. But three months later he still has injuries from the beating that his abductors put on him when they took him. They beat and brutalized him for hours and the after effects are still being felt:

"I must say to you that nobody from the Belize Embassy had ever returned back to the prison where I am being held at this time. And I must say also one of my fingers, it is unable to close, this finger. I have two of my hands also that continues to be numb where the handcuff was placed tightly, so I am having problems there. Seems as if tho I have bruised blood, I don't know what is it."
"But my feet is in a bad condition."
In early September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed that "two officers from Belize's embassy in Guatemala visited with Budna. Quote, "They described it as a very positive meeting, very useful meeting."
We should note that Budna did not have the same review.
