Months ago we reported on the rift between Police Commissioner Dr. Richard Rosado and Constable Gabriel Pou.
Pou's attorney wrote to the Compol saying that he was being transferred because he had quote, "specific, incriminating information concerning high ranking individuals involved in the highly sensitive Budna kidnapping matter."
Well, on Monday the Compol threw down the gauntlet and urged Pau to come forward and share any information he may have:
Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police
"Our transfer policy is based on the general welfare of the department and exigencies of services. I do not know, he has not communicated to me what knowledge or if he has anything. I was brief on that he has abandoned his post and he has not shown up for duty from the he was transferred from the ministry."
Reporter
"If he does have information, would you encourage him to come forward?"
Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police
"Of course, I definitely would encourage him if you have any information that is of evidential value to come forward and speak to the investigators so that we can continue the ongoing investigation."
As we understand it, the commissioner has blocked Pou on his phone.
And, this evening, Attorneys for Mr. Pou at Myles and Banner have rejected Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado's public call for Pou to "come forward," labeling it disingenuous and misleading amid allegations of a cover-up in the Budna kidnapping case. In a brief but pointed letter, the attorneys state that Pou has already raised concerns with Dr. Rosado, the Deputy Commissioner and Legal Advisor, and other senior government officials, but was met with inaction rather than a genuine investigation. The letter further claims Mr. Pou's career is being targeted as retaliation for speaking out and says he will not participate in private meetings with officials who previously ignored his concerns. Myles and Banner are now calling for an independent investigation , alongside the Director of Public Prosecutions, arguing the Police Department cannot credibly investigate itself when senior leadership is implicated.
