We also asked the ComPol for any updates on the case of Budna's kidnapping, and whether the police have been tasked to investigate further. He reverted once again to his default deflection, saying that the file and the case are in the DPP's hands.

"Like I mentioned before, my public statement at that time was based on the full extent of the briefing that was provided to me. Any subsequent portrayal that I was untruthful is totally inaccurate. I have always been transparent and I have always promoted transparency within the department."
