And while government has legal battles coming in by battalion, the Attorney
General’s Ministry is being depleted of its professional resources. 7NEWS
has confirmed that Solicitor General Tanya Herwanger has resigned and at least
two other legal professionals are rumoured to be leaving as well. Herwanger
would not answer our calls but we do know that she was publicly criticized by
the Prime Minister and not long after, her boss, the Attorney General swore
to an affidavit telling the court that she took a decision that he had not advised
her to.
And while the AG’s office is in dire straits, a new DPP was confirmed
today by the Senate. She is Cheryl Lynn Branker Taitt.
