Tonight, and probably for the first time, Belize's Prime Minister is
a woman.
Sylvia Flores is acting Prime Minister as the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime
Minister, and the PUP Co-Deputy Leader are all out of the country. Prime Minister
Said Musa is in panama for the fourth summit of the Association of Caribbean
States. 25 regional Heads of Government are expected to mark the occasion by
signing a declaration, committing themselves democracy, good governance, equity,
and economic development.
And while the PM is in Panama, Deputy Prime Minister John Briceno is in Cancun,
Mexico to meet with ministers of environment from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras
to discuss the second stage of the Meso-American Barrier Reef Project.
Minister of Housing and Human Services Sylvia Flores's stint as PM will end
on Sunday when the Prime Minister is expected back.
