Last night on this newscast you saw contractor Oscar Pollard energetically
defending the quality of his work on the Maskall Health Clinic. As we’ve
reported, Belize Rural North Area Representative Edmund Castro says Pollard’s
$93,000 contract to renovate the clinic is bloated.
Well today Pollard once again had to defend himself against Castro but this
time it was in a courtroom. Today Pollard was charged with the use of insulting
words. Castro alleges that when he visited the clinic on Friday April 18th,
Pollard told him “yuh could tek dat camera and push it up your –
you know what.”
Today in court Pollard pled not guilty and was released on $2,500 bail. His
next court appearance is May 27th.
