The hold up and robbery not only resulted in the quick arrest of two
of the robbers but police investigations strongly links one of the accused to
a murder that happened more than 6 weeks ago. While investigators were making
inquiries into Freetown Road robbery, they gathered information that connects
twenty one year old Mervin Bradley to the homicide of twenty six year old Christino
Madrill. Bradley is the same one who was allegedly wielding the gun in Sunday’s
armed robbery.
On the evening of April 21st, Madrill was fatally shot by a lone gunman
who rode up on a bicycle and fired three shots. Today Head of Crimes Investigation
in Belize City Aaron Guzman says they have received credible information which
says that Mervin Bradley is the man who pulled the trigger.
Supt. Aaron Guzman,
“We are now in the possession of a statement at least right now that
we were trying to place together the pieces of that murder investigation. We
have now obtained a statement that we believe puts that puzzle almost together,
enough that we believe we have to charge Mervin Bradley for the murder.”
According to Guzman their investigations suggest that Christino Madrill
was killed because of a misunderstanding or an old beef. Mervin Bradley is scheduled
to appear in Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday when he will be charged for
the murder of Christino Madrill.
