A .45 pistol is one of the deadliest weapons made and that’s why it’s
classed as a prohibited firearm in Belize. But on Saturday night police busted
28 year old Ian Arthurs with just that, a .45 handgun. A mobile patrol was on
West Street 11:30 pm on Saturday when they saw Arthurs. He ran and police say
they pursued him and then saw him throw a firearm on the ground. Police searched
the area and found the .45 handgun which was loaded with 5 live rounds. The
gun had no serial number. Arthurs has been arrested and charged for keeping
a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
