Orlando Wade, the man accused of killing Dorla Pitterson was arraigned in Belize
City Magistrate’s Court today. The 30 year Sandhill resident old faced
a single charge of murder and was remanded until July third. Though no please
was taken in court, at the courthouse area, he declared his innocence and his
relatives asked police for special protection for him in prison, because they
say he has already received a death threat.
Police say that based on evidence gathered from the community, he was seen
with her on Monday night before she was killed.
Pitterson – who was a psychiatric patient was found on Wednesday dead
in an outhouse behind a Sandhill club. She had been raped, strangled and left
for dead in a pit latrine.
