Earlier we showed you some images of the flood damage from the air. That was taken yesterday when we went for an hour long fly over with a NEMO representative. The pilot was Frank Plett. He’s flown over all of Belize, particularly the west, hundreds of times. He told us that he’s never seen anything like it.

“All we saw is more water than what I’ve seen for many years. We gone all the way to the Benque border and then we went east all the way to More Tomorrow Village and we seen hundreds and hundreds of acres of corn under water which is going to be a loss of millions of dollars and we’ve seen houses all the way under water and I know these families are going to need a lot of help in the near future and so it is a devastating area right now, all along the river.”

And of course, tune in tomorrow, when we’ll have more from those areas that are flood affected and the areas that will be affected in the next few days.
