The Benny’s Group of Companies today cut a check for $30,000 to the government
of Belize. The check is made out to the National Emergency Management Organization
and in a letter to Prime Minister Dean Barrow, Benny’s Manager Ralph Feinstein
said it is his company’s contribution to relief efforts.
The toll is still being tallied but it is estimated to be in the tens of millions
– and by the end of it, three districts, Cayo, Belize and Orange Walk
are expected to be declared disaster areas.
