If you live on the north side, you may have notice that5 your garbage was not
picked up yesterday, and if you live on the southside, you’ll see that
it wasn’t picked up today. And the reason is...what it always is at City
Hall, no money to pay Belize Waste Control. Or at least that’s what we’ve
been able to gather from calls by residents to Belize Waste Control.
We were unable to reach the Mayor or higher ups in Government to find out when
they will be paid off. But until they are or something else is worked out, your
garbage, ugly as it is, will not be picked up.
The council is also way behind on payments to BML which keeps the city clean
and there are reports that that company is panning a lawsuit.
