Earlier we told you about the garbage that’s been piling up around the
city because it’s not being picked up by Belize Waste Control –which
hasn’t been paid. Well after we couldn’t reach her all day, Belize
City Mayor Zenaida Moya called our studios a short while ago to say Belize Waste
Control has been paid.
She said yesterday the council’s finance director called Belize Waste
Control to come and pick up their check for $31,000. She says her office called
Belize Waste Control again this morning and the check was picked up. She says
they were only 2 weeks in arrears.
