posted (November 13, 2008)

Tonight 28 year old Erlett Lozano has 120,000 reasons to be happy. The single mother of three who is a nursing student at the University of Belize hit last night’s $120,000 Lotto jackpot. The winning numbers were 3, 19, 21, 24, and 30. Lozano bought a single quick pick ticket and she found out that she won this morning. She rushed to Belize City to pick up her check this afternoon and when we met her she was still in disbelief.

Erlett Lozano, LOTTO Winner
“I came home after one of my classes and a friend came by and he just told us the numbers and I went to check my ticket and those were the numbers. I didn’t believe but that was it, I had to go check for myself. Those were the numbers and I was excited. I didn’t go back to class. I was sitting there just thinking about how I didn’t believe and I decided to come and claim my prize.â€￾

Keith Swift,
What are you going to do with all of that money?

Erlett Lozano,
“My main focus is owning my own place so that’s my main concern. I will put money aside for my kids and everybody knows that my family will have a good Christmas.

Every week I would buy a ticket, one quick pick every week.â€￾

Keith Swift,
How many tickets did you buy last night?

Erlett Lozano,
“I usually just buy one ticket, never buy more than one; just one quick pick.â€￾

Keith Swift,
Will you continue playing LOTTO?

Erlett Lozano,
“No I will not. This was my opportunity to win and I won so I will leave it for somebody else to win.â€￾

After taxes, Lozano took home an evened $102,000. The jackpot for Saturday has rolled back to $50,000.
