Nineteen year old Tarique Cadle will be spending his Christmas behind bars
after being identified as one of the robbers involved in a holdup that happened
one week ago. Around nine thirty that night, forty two year old Belize City
businessman Steve Patterson was at the Queen Square Market hanging out with
friends but as the group gambled and drank two men approached Steve Patterson.
One of them pointed a pistol at Patterson and the other suspect demanded that
he hand over his belongings. One of the robbers then grabbed a gold chain from
around Patterson’s neck and he then handed over his gold bracelet and
medal. Both men then ran off with the jewelry valued at five thousand two hundred
dollars.
And while the pair of robbers managed to escape, the police investigation did
lead them to one of their suspects, Tarique Kuylon Cadle, a resident of Supal
Street in Belize City. Steve Patterson later positively identified Tarique Cadle
as one of the young men who robbed him. This morning, Cadle appeared in court
number five and was arraigned on the charge of robbery. Due to the nature of
the offense he was denied bail and remanded to prison.
Tonight police are now looking for the accomplice who has been identified only
as a twenty two year old man. Police say they know the name of the suspect.
