George Street Dons Charged for San Pedro Drug Murders
posted (February 16, 2009)

Police have charged three notorious Belize City characters for one of the San Pedro drug killings. They are 28 year old Shelton “Pinky” Tillett, 28 year old Micah Thompson – both associated with George Street and 21 year old Charles Woodeye. They are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder and have been remanded to Hattieville Prison.

As we’ve reported, three men were killed in an area north of San Pedro Town sometime around Thursday January 29th. John Paul Saldivar was found dead on the thirty first and on February third, police found the bodies of James Swan and Eduardo Gutierrez. Their bodies were a mile north of the Saldivar body and they had been buried in a shallow grave. Three bodies and all the killings are believed to be drug related – suggested by the black nylon bags found near to the Swan and Gutierrez bodies. Those bags are identical to bags with cocaine found by police weeks earlier after a wet drop went awry.

Three men are wanted for the Swan and Gutierrez killings; they are Gabriel Salazar, Alexander Edwards and Frank Edwards. Those men are still at large but Saldivar’s alleged killers led by George Street Don Shelton “Pinky” Tillett and Micah Thompson will have to re-appear in court on March 16th. In court this morning, Tillett and Thompson were represented by attorney Ellis Arnold while Charles Woodye was unrepresented.

It’s of note that San Pedro Police report that on the night January 30 when they first set out to look for Saldivar’s body, they intercepted members of the George Street crew on foot in San Pedro with US$33,000 in cash, money that they said was to purchase a Polaris ATV.
