Was Emmy Bo Faber killed by stray bullets or was he the target? Police still aren’t sure but based on preliminary investigations and those who knew the victim it appears as if well known forty three year old stevedore and former semi pro basket ball player Emmerson Faber was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Area residents strongly believe that Emmerson Faber was innocent when he became a victim of an ongoing feud that has been brewing in the neighbourhood between two groups of young men.

Faber was shot several times in the chest. He collapsed and died later while undergoing treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Following the shooting in which witnesses recall hearing a total of eighteen gun shots, police detained one person and today 7News understands the police caught their chief suspect on the run in the Belize District. Information to 7News is that this morning, the man was caught at his girlfriend’s home in Sandhill Village in a residence on the Old Northern Highway. At this time, he and the other suspect have not been charged.

Emmerson Faber was playing a game of dice with four other men when they all came under fire. An acquaintance of the victim thirty six year old Calvin Nicholas was also shot and injured as he tried to get out of harm’s way. Nicholas remains at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital recovering from injuries he received to his chest, arm and wrist.
