Hubert ‘The Kid’ Velasquez, his name has been in crime news since the mid 90’s and it’s back tonight. The 34 year old Kid has been charged with three counts of robbery for a holdup at K&S Mini Mart in LA Democracia Village on January 20. Police say that on January 20, 2009, at about 5:00 Velasquez and another man held up the security guard at gunpoint and relieved him of his licensed 38 revolver and then robbed three customers – one of them had 850 dollars in cash.

Police apprehended Velasquez on Friday and in court this morning he was slapped with three counts of robbery.  He pleaded not guilty and was denied bail due to the nature of the offense allegedly committed with a firearm. According to a police source, Velasquez is wanted by police in Dangriga and a warrant is out for his arrest in that municipality.
He is also wanted in Northern Belize as he had case pending in that area.
