A 43-year-old domestic of southside Belize City claims her husband tried to kill her because she refuse him sex. And because of that complaint, tonight, 56-year-old electrical contractor, Rudolph Dawson, known as “Acid” is behind bars despite the efforts made by his attorney, Hubert Elrington who tried to get bail for him. Unable to get bail, Dawson was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until May 20 after he was slapped with one count of attempted murder, one count of harm and one count of aggravated assault.

Police told the court that on Saturday morning Dawson was driving his car on Partridge Street when he ran the car into his wife. 43-year-old Primrose Dawson, told police it started at about 6:00 that morning when she refused him. Dawson said she packed her clothes and was leaving and in front of their house, her husband drove it into her hitting her knees, and causing her to tumble to the pavement.

Before the charges were read to him Dawson said in court, “I guess it must be my wife being upset.” Dawson is due back in court on May 20. His attorney, Hubert Elrington told us that Dawson said his wife has fabricated the story she gave police as he didn’t do what she accuses him of.
