Last night we showed you first images of Mayor Zenaida Moya’s wedding
ceremony. It was a small private ceremony with mostly family and close friends.
The Mayor was walked up the aisle by her brother Silvino.
And while that was a modest event the reception was much larger. It had attendance
of the Governor General Sir Colville Young, as well as the Prime Minister Dean
Barrow, first lady Kim Simplis – making it the rare non-official event
that features both the heads of state and government. Other notable public officials
were there including Works Minister Boots Martinez, Senator for the business
community Godwin Hulse and City Councillors Eric Chang and long time Moya loyalist
Wayne Usher. Speaker of the House Emil Arguelles was also in attendance.
And while there were many stars from political and social spheres, the main
attraction were Belize’s those who had been most well known un-married
couple, Troy Dalla Flowers and Mayor Zenaida Moya, who was introduced as Zenaida
Flowers.
Speeches were given by Housing Minister Michael Finnegan and Prime Minister
Dean Barrow. The couple reportedly went on honeymoon today.
