For at least the last 6 years, the Channel 7 tradition at the time of the Belize
District Festival of the Arts has been to air a nightly highlight package
featuring the winners. That was done in conjunction with NICH but this year
– the Belize District Festival moved to the Parish Hall and the NICH video
unit didn’t. So no highlights package. But we’re making it back
up. Starting today – we’re airing three golden days – 3 hour
sessions of the winners form all over the country. If you just happen to miss
our live broadcast this morning from the Bliss, Jamie Thompson one of the event’s
organizers told us he has been impressed.
Jamie Thompson,
“We had 15 performances from each district, this morning we had Corozal
and Stann Creek coming to the Bliss Center for Performing Arts to showcase their
15 best gold performances from the district Festival of Arts. From the little
that I saw, it is definitely evident that they had a long time to rehearse some
of the stuff and we had children from the infant age all the way up to the Standard
6 age and each of them did well, they did exceptionally well. The dramas that
came from Corozal was well put together and what stood out to me in the dramas
was the characterization of the students and that takes a lot of time to accomplish.”
