Tonight we have very good news to report and that is thirty eight year old Natalie Chan is with her family safe and reported in good health. Since Wednesday morning the missing woman’s family has been looking for their sister but became very concerned after she sent them a text message indicating that she was tired of years of domestic abuse and would commit suicide.

Natalie Chan walked out of her home on Tuesday morning following an attack and threat on her life by her husband forty three year old Miguel Chan and their nineteen year old son Carlos Chan Around ten this morning Corozal Police did get a lead on the case when they visited a residence that rents rooms. The owner told police that around nine thirty on Tuesday morning Natalie Chan showed up with a bag asking for a room to rent. She reportedly left her bag saying that she was going to the store to buy but Natalie Chan never returned.

Police became even more concerned about the mother’s health when among her personal belongings they found a supply of medication. Natalie Chan who is a diabetic and insulin dependent must take two shots of insulin a day to control her condition. It is unclear as to how she was found but from what we gather she did make contact with a friend and informed that person she was walking towards the Corozal Hospital for help. And that is where late this evening her family and the police met Natalie Chan. Following medical checkups and interview with police, she then taken by her family who will now help her get back on the road to a full recovery.

On May sixth, Natalie Chan applied for a protection order against her husband forty three year old Miguel Chan. It was granted it for six months. However around twelve thirty on Saturday afternoon, Miguel Chan along with his nineteen year old son Carlos Chan got into Natalie Chan’s home An argument started between Miguel and Natalie after he accused his wife of having an affair and he started to punch her all over the body. Their son Carlos Chan reportedly held onto his mother’s hand so the father could continue to beat her.

The report is that the father and son had a knife and Natalie Chan’s life was threatened. Four days later the mother kissed her two young daughters as the children left for school and then walked out. 7News understands that forty three year old Miguel Chan has not only been charged for breach of protection order but he has been remanded to Hattieville Prison until June thirtieth. Meanwhile authorities continue to look for the son Carlos Chan who is expected to be charged with use of threatening words.
