A Belizean police officer has been detained in Salvador. 7News has confirmed that Inspector Mario Alcoser left Belize yesterday evening to attend a training program in Korea. His route was Belize, Salvador, New York and then Korea. But Isnp. Alcoser was stopped at the Salvador airport because he allegedly boarded the plane with his gun and didn’t declare it. He was detained by Salvadoran authorities and information to us is that he will be sent back to Belize tomorrow without being charged. It is then expected that he will fly out again – this time without his gun. Insp. Alcoser is attached to the police’s IT unit in Belmopan.
