It’s report that didn’t make it on the news but on May 22nd 19 year old Elton Bradley was shot. Gunmen rushed him on Bishop Street and fired fifteen shots – four of which hit him. You can say he is lucky to be alive but Keith Swift found out today that for the once hardworking Elton Bradley – a break of good luck never hurt so bad.

Keith Swift Reporting,
Two bullets penetrated Elton Bradley’s right leg, another his right hand, and the fourth bullet entered his hip.

“When I reached the hospital and thing I was in pain and I got bunnas and these two holes were opened up and blood started pouring out and thing and then they had me on this machine and one of the bullets shooted out from by my buttocks and they hauled it on and showed me.”

Keith Swift,
Did you think you would have died?

Elton Bradley,
“Man I felt bad brother.”

Elton luckily survived but since May 22nd – he has been living with a 9 milimeter bullet inside his right hip. He turned 20 yesterday but there wasn’t much to celebrate – he can’t work, these crotches help him to move around and then there is the pain from that bullet still lodged inside his right hip.

Elton Bradley,
“This bullet broke my hip, I can’t move my hip like how I want. From the hip go down and come through this little bone, that hurts right there. I can’t the turn and twist like how I want. If I have to get up right now and take this foot and move, to go down that step is pressure, I stand bad. I am in pain right now. Sometime I have to take painkiller and cancer pills and thing and they say I have to continue to drink them. I can’t work right now because the foot is sick and thing.”

Keith Swift,
And you were working before?

Elton Bradley,
“Yes I used to work hard. I was a nice working man.”

But Elton can’t work to earn the money he needs to remove the bullet.

Elton Bradley,
“I need for my mom to get the money so they take out this lead because this lead is still in there and this will give me cancer. This can’t left in there because if I am sick who will take care of me.”

Keith Swift,
You turned 20 yesterday, was it a happy birthday?

Elton Bradley,
“Brother I will tell you the honest truth right, I feel bad check. I am in this situation and I can’t stand it.”

Keith Swift,
Normally when people get shot, people would say that you got shot because you were looking for it or you are a bad boy and you did something wrong. Was that the case with you?

Elton Bradley,
“I don’t do those things, I don’t trouble nobody brother.”

But somebody troubled Elton Bradley – and this 20 year old fears he will never be the same again.

Keith Swift,
What are you afraid might happen if you don’t get this bullet removed?

Elton Bradley,
“I will can’t walk. I will can’t walk and I’ll be just like this.”

In a parallel development, Elton’s younger brother – 18 year old Ronald Bradley was arrested over the weekend by Hattieville Police. His family claims police used excessive force. Ronald has been charged with aggravated assault and was remanded to prison. Elton and Ronald Bradley’s brothers Vincent Jones and Fredrick Neal were both killed in 1999. No one went to jail for the killings.
