The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital’s board and its doctor returned to
the negotiation table today – and it appears there was a major breakthrough.
President of the Belize Medical and Dental Union Dr. John Sosa told us this
evening that both sides reached consensus on most items in the MOU. That is
with the exception of the suspension of Board Chairman Ricardo Fabro. The parties
met at the Biltmore Plaza and, according to Dr. Sosa, they agreed on a terms
of reference for the Commission of Inquiry and on a special audit. Labour Commissioner
Ivan Williams will set the time and day for the next meeting.
