Sixteen year old Frank Trapp better known as Frankie remains in the Karl Heusner
Memorial Hospital recovering from a gunshot wound he received to his leg following
a hold-up and home invasion at his family’s residence on Police Street.
On Friday, the teenager’s family spoke to 7News about the incident and
over the weekend Belize City police acted quickly to make an arrest.
The young man you are looking at is twenty five year old Michael Young better
known as ‘Ham’ and described as a well known criminal figure. This
morning when the accused appeared in Magistrate’s Court he was charged
for the home invasion at Pedrina Johnson White’s residence and another
robbery that occurred the following day.
For the invasion, Young was charged with aggravated burglary upon Pedrina Johnson
White and use of deadly means of harm and grievous harm against her sixteen
year old son. He also allegedly stole three hundred dollars in cash. The following
night, Michael Young allegedly held up thirty nine year old Egbert Tun and robbed
him of a ring and some cash.
During Michael Young’s court appearance no plea was taken for the home
invasion charges as these are indictable matters. For the robbery charge Michael
Young pled not guilty but because it was committed with a firearm he was remanded
to the Hattieville Prison until August thirteenth.
And while police have arrested one of the men involve din both incidents they
remain on the lookout for the other two persons who invaded Pedrina Johnson
White’s residence and the other suspect involved in the Egbert Tun’s
hold-up and robbery.
