And while healthy soils may have their earthly charms, what can we
say about Small and medium enterprises? Agreed, it’s not a sexy subject,
but SME’s – as they are called – are a key part of the business
sector. They represent that entrepreneurial spirit – the business persons
who didn’t just want to punch the clock for a big company, but instead
branched out on their own with an idea and a few dollars. Today in Belmopan,
BELTRAIDE held a training session for SME owners to make sure those few dollars
multiply into many through the application of sound business practices. A Central
American consultant was here to give them the macro-picture for micro enterprise.
Shahera McKoy, BELTRAIDE
“The idea is what they take from here in terms of improving their
standards and their quality that they would take it back to their enterprises
and apply the lessons learnt here to improve their productivity and improve
the quality that they offer. We want to help SMEs, we want to help them develop
and to be competitive and productive.”
After this session, locals will be equipped to carry on the training.
