“The game is over the the Benito Juarez Poliform and the score is 88 to 92 Belize won over Panama by four points. It was a tightly contested and very exciting game. But Belize earned its third victory at the COCABA Championship that means Belize is at the top of the ranking for group B. The top scorer for tonight’s game was Milton Palacio had 18 points, Alex Carcamo had 16. So, if everything goes as we hope in the sense that Belize is given the points for its wins, we should advance to the semifinals tomorrow where we’ll either meet Costa Rica or Mexico from Group A. I spoke to Paul Thompson the President of Federation and he told me he doesn’t know. He told me that he hopes tomorrow they are awarded the points and that we will we advance. He hasn’t heard anything official from FIBA. If we advance, chances are that we play Costa Rica and that will be at 6:00 pm tomorrow – that’s 5:00 pm Belize time. Thing is we beat Panama which was thought to be the most formidable team in Group B and now we should advance and play for a medal.”
