Two Belize City residents were shot as they stood in front of their home on last night. Siblings Darren and Shanda Dawson were standing on Neal Pen’s Road at when an unidentified male rode past on a bicycle and opened fire. Darren was shot in the neck and Shanda in the thigh. Both are recovering at the KHMH and declined our interview requests.
Police say they know who they are looking for but haven’t caught up to him yet.

A popular Dangriga Gas Station was robbed last night. The owner of Havana Gas Station – a 47 year old whose name police are not releasing was leaving the business after closing up at 9:00 last night when two men came up from behind – both of them wearing bandanas over their faces. One of them pointed a gun at his head, and took the owner’s bag which had over nine-thousand dollars in cash and checques. They fled without firing a shot. Dangriga police say because the men masked their identities, they have no definite suspects at this time.
