The image of the public healthcare system has taken a battering in the past
six months with infant mortality and charges of fleecing of public funds at
the national hospital. Tonight though the news is good as the Ministry of Health
has purchased $1.6 million worth of new equipment to be dispatched across the
country.
The equipment includes hospital beds, bassinets, paediatric cribs, delivery
tables, dental equipment, fetal monitors, examination tables, incubators, nebulizers
and wheelchairs.
The supplier of the equipment is Development and Relief Corporation, a company from the Netherlands which will train Ministry of Health personnel in equipment maintenance.
