A number of prominent Belizeans will be honored at this year’s Tribute
to Belizean Patriots which will be held a week from tomorrow at the Bliss Center.
The highest honours will go to former UDP Leader Dean Lindo for contributions
to the development of party politics in Belize. The order of distinction will
go to Dr. Kenrick Leslie, in recognition of his contributions to the National
Meteorological Service of Belize and to the development of Climatology in the
Caribbean.
There’s a list of 16 other recipients and notable names include Michael
“Big Mike” Lewis – the multiple cross country champ gets in
for his contribution to cycling and Nadia Cattouse, a Belziean born actress
and singer famous for her tune, “Long Time Boy”. After some success
in Belize, she rose to prominence in the UK.
