Today the Belize Defence Force complemented its fighting capabilities
with the passing out of BDF recruit intake number fifty two. The short ceremony
was held at the Sir Colville Young Parade Square in Price Barracks Ladyville.
The 62 new soldiers had to successfully complete six weeks of intensive training.
Today these men and women are skilled in map reading, tactics, signals, military
communications, skill at arms, leadership and discipline. These outstanding
qualities were demonstrated during the today’s graduation by the intakes
themselves. The following are highlights from the ceremony.

A few of the recruits were recognized for their excellence they displayed
during the formal military training. Recruit Kevon Gongora has been awarded
as the Champion Recruit, Best Shot went to Recruit Denis Flowers, Champion Physical
Training was awarded to Recruit Robert Stephenson and Champion Field Craft went
to Recruit Julio Sarceno.
