Twenty one year old Bernardo Smith drowned this weekend. It happened on the
lagoon in Progresso Village. Police preliminary investigations reveal that on
Saturday Bernardo Smith of camp twenty nine in the Corozal District was travelling
in a skiff handled by forty two year old Henrich Harder of Little Belize.
Bernardo Smith fell out of the skiff, went under water and did not resurface.
Smith’s body was later retrieved from the Progresso Lagoon and it now
awaits a post mortem at the Northern Regional Hospital’s morgue.
