Convicted rapist Barry Robinson has been out on parole but tonight he is back
in jail. The 31 year old Robinson was today arraigned in court for robbery.
He is charged for robbing Bernadine Grinage.
Bernadine Grinage reported that shortly before 9 last night she was walking
on Eyre Street when someone hit her in the head and grabbed her black purse.
Inside the purse were her Gucci sunglasses, jewellery, her credit cards, about
$90 in cash, and a cell phone. Police say they busted Robinson with the stolen
Samsung brand cell phone shortly after the incident.
Robinson pleaded not guilty in court this morning and Magistrate Sharon Frazer
offered him bail of $4,000 and adjourned the case to December 2nd. But Robinson
wasn’t free to go because he is on parole from a rape conviction. If his
parole is revoked when the parole board meets later this month, he will have
to serve the remaining 5 years of his 10 year prison sentence.
