Today in Magistrate’s Court room number another young man was sent off
to Hattieville Prison. The accused, twenty two year old Oscar Usher, a resident
of Guadalupe Street allegedly shot sixteen year old Kenrick Longsworth. Longsworth
was shot on Wednesday night at the corner of Victoria Street and Lovely lane
in the Pickstock area of Belize City.
Oscar Usher has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and use
of deadly means of harm. No plea was taken because the offences are indictable
and no bail was offered because of the nature of the charge of attempted murder.
Oscar Usher was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December seventeenth.
