It’s an event that slipped completely under the news radar but on Saturday
there was a major meeting between gang leaders and Cabinet members. According
to a Cabinet over 100 gang members met with the Minister of Education, Patrick
Faber, the Minister of Human Development Peter Eden Martinez, and Minister of
National Security Carlos Perdomo.
Our sources tell us that the meeting lasted five to six hours and was staged
at Bird’s Isle in Belize City. According to a Cabinet release, the meeting
is part of government’s effort to come up with a holistic approach to
the gang situation.
