One week after fifty one year old Frank Conorquie was found guilty of stealing
a lap top computer, today he was found guilty of a theft of a cell phone. Magistrate
Sharon Frazer fined him one thousand, five hundred dollars and ordered him to
pay his victim three hundred and fifty dollars in compensation.
Magistrate Frazer gave the accused until November sixteenth to compensate Helen
Cuellar and on December fifteenth to pay the fine. If fifty one year old Frank
Conorquie is unable to make the payments he will spend eighteen months at the
Belize Central Prison. According to court reports the sentence is to run consecutively

Last Monday the accused was unable to get anyone to sign a bond for the one
thousand fine he was charged for stealing the lap top computer, the money he
got after selling the equipment. Court reports are that the cell phone was stolen
in October of last year. The victim testified that she gave the accused the
phone to unlock but that he never returned it. Helen Cuellar had just gotten
the cell phone as a birthday gift.

phone from a fourteen year old. Brandon Gentle aka Chucky and a resident of seventy one Taylor Alley reportedly committed the crime around seven thirty
on the night of October twenty eight. The accused was also charged for the assault
of a police officer that occurred when he escaped, a charge that Brandon Gentle

Police Constable Jamille Scott reported that he was on Cemetery Road when he
saw a robbery in progress at the corner of Cemetery Road and Euphrates Avenue.
PC Scott said when he went to apprehend the suspect the suspect ran through
Taylor’s Alley and escaped.
Then on November sixth, PC Scott told the court that while he was riding his
motorcycle on Orange Street he saw the suspect and this time was able to apprehend
him but Brandon Gentle ran through Taylor’s Alley and escaped after he
pushed down the police constable. PC Scott did not give up however and pursued
the fleeing suspect and finally caught up with him on Baghdad Street.
