There have also been no arrested in an armed robbery that is reported to have
happened this evening at the Marketing Board on North Front Street. It happened
at around four when a man entered the office and approached the casher. He pointed
a gun at her and demanded money. She turned it over and then he fled. It is
not known how much money was stolen. The cashier declined to comment.
It is of note that the robbery occurred next door to the Conscious Youth Development
Program’s office where many police officers work. They told us that they
weren’t informed about the robbery until after the gunman had already
fled.
