An ex common law husband has been arrested and charged after he tried to stab
his ex common law wife. The drama unfolded inside the woman’s home situated
through Majestic Alley in Belize City. Police report that twenty five year old
George Matthews entered the residence without permission. He was armed with
a kitchen knife and approached the woman in an attempt to stab her but a man
identified as Edward Barrow who was inside the house at the time came to her
rescue. During the struggle both George Matthews and Edward Barrow received
injuries. However the intruder got the worse of it.
George Matthews received stab wounds to his head, both hands and abdomen. He
was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remained under police
guard as he recovered from his injuries. Edward Barrow has since been treated
and released from the KHMH.
