Artemio Acosta is alleged to be a con man posing as a graphic designer who’s
now been linked to t-shirt scams in the Belize, Corozal and Cayo districts.
According to police, on the twenty-third September, Acosta approached a teacher
at a Cayo school and signed a contract to design and provide one thousand shirts
for an advance payment of five hundred dollars. The teacher told police that
Acosta has not been seen or heard from since.
So he faces more counts of obtaining property by deception to add to the 30
or so he’s already had slapped on him in Corozal and Belize Districts.
