Founded in 2003, Galen University in San Ignacio is now under new ownership
and leadership. Dr. Louis Zabaneh is the new head of the school and a new Board
of Trustees comprises Senator Godwin Hulse, Dr. Aaron Lewis, Dr. John McAfee,
Caltan McKoy, Marian McNab, Valentino Shal and Dr. Louis Zabaneh as Executive
Chairman. Zabaneh is the former Chair of the University of Belize’s Board
of Trustees.
According to a release Dr. Zabaneh will focus on making the business programs
more relevant. When we spoke to him briefly last week, Zabaneh flatly denied
widespread reports that he was fronting on the acquisition for another much
larger business interest. Zabaneh stressed that he was doing it on his own behalf
with his own resources.
More will be known when the new board of trustees has a press conference on
December 16th.
