And from Azizi to Aziatic...remember him? He’s one of the most
dynamic and energetic stars in punta music who burst upon the scene over 10
years ago with a style that combined the energy of his north American home and
the roots of his Hopkins birthplace. Well, now he’s back in Belize for
a homecoming concert – and we mean all the way home. The youth born in
Hopkins as Vince Lewis is having a beach bash in his home village of Hopkins
on Saturday. He told us he’s humble but hungry to perform for his home
village folks.
Aziatic, Performer
“I am home and that is what’s really good about coming home.
It humbles you because what happens it reminds you of where you started and
where you came from. Like I you said I could be around the world doing concerts
in front of thousands of people but you come back home and it is what it is
and it helps you to connect with that original energy that you started with.
It really makes you want to go back and work and see what it is that you are
trying to accomplish because of the fact that you came from, like myself I came
from Hopkins where we literally didn’t know what a light bulb was, I remember
the first time seeing a light bulb and the first time seeing a television.
We are promoting a beach bash. It is going to happen in Hopkins on the
12th of December. This show is going to be something massive like the village
really has not seen in probably a while. We are here to do that and make it
happen.”
The beach bash is on Saturday at the North Beach Bar and Grill. There
will be a show in the afternoon for his young fans and the adult show will start
in the night. And then the following week on the 19th he’ll have a punta
rock concert in Placencia.
