Last week police in Israel bust open a million dollar illegal internet gaming
operation. It is news in Belize because part of the operation was based in Belize.
Israeli media report that the masterminds were brothers Idan and Shai Raviv
who had set up operations in Estonia, Tel Aviv, and at what’s described
as a luxury villa in Belize.
In Belize they reportedly employed dozens of Israeli’s – mainly
women as female card deals who communicated with customers via the internet
on web cameras. The website apparently targeted people in Israel. Idan ran the
Belize operation from England while Shai was based in Tel Aviv.
5 suspects were arrested but their names have not been released. There was
no indication if any of those arrests were made in Belize. Police press officer
Clemente Palacio told us he knew nothing about the incident and that was news
to him.
